| DIFFERENT
PANEL TYPES
At R-Tight® Panel, we make several
different types of panels. Here are brief descriptions of each ...
Structural Panels
By far the most common panel, our structural panels,
have OSB on both exterior faces:
Structural panels can be used to build whole homes,
with or without a timberframe! You apply drywall to the inside of
the panels to give a regular drywall interior.
Curtainwall Panels
Another type of panel, our curtainwall panels, have
OSB outside and drywall inside. These panels are most often used
for the ceilings of a timberframe, where you want a drywall interior.
They can also be used for the walls in a timberframe home, but they
aren't as rigid as structural panels, and the interior drywall seams
are less stable.
Nailbase Panels
A third type of panel is the nailbase panel. These
panels have an exterior face of OSB, and no interior covering on
the EPS core. These panels are a little less expnsive than curtainwall
panels. They are comonly used above tongue & groove ceilings
if you are unconcerned about having a drywall fire break.
