About R-Tight Panels A. Types of panels. At R-Tight we make panels with two different types of insulation, expanded polystyrene (EPS) and polyurethane. Both types of insulation are environmentally friendly; they’re both free of HFC and CFC. Both types of insulation, and the urethane glue we use to laminate panels, are nontoxic when cured. EPS and urethane each have advantages and disadvantages.
EPS is less expensive than urethane. Urethane is nonflammable, whereas
EPS can soften at high temperatures and can burn. When EPS burns
it releases about the same kinds of gases and soot that are |
