About R-Tight Panels
C. How to care for panels at your site. Youll
need space to unload and store different bundles of panels. In order
for your panel installation to go smoothly, youll want to
lay out your bundles so different kinds of panels are easily available.
We mark each R-Tight panel with a letter to show where it belongs
in your home. Dont underestimate the amount of room youll
need. Panels are bulky! More than you think!
We ship your panels wrapped up. After we make
your panels at R-Tight, we bundle them, wrap them in polyethylene,
then band them together. This keeps your panels dry during shipping
and unloading, and helps keep them dry at your site.
Important: If you dont
use your panels within a few days, or there is heavy rain at your
site, you must further protect your panels with tarps!
How to store and use your panels. Use these simple
rules. Youll protect your panels from weather and make your
installation easier:
- Cover your panels with a tarp to protect them
from weather
- Arrange your panel bundles so you can open them
only as needed
- Dont - open a panel bundle until youre
ready to use those panels
- Do - keep the polyurethane wrap on unused panels
to protect them from rain
- Do - save the 2" x 6" OSB pieces you
find under our bundle straps. Youll want these as spacers
during installation (see page 23, top)
