Tools of the Trade

B. Circular saw. You can make many panel cuts with a circular saw. You’ll need to cut your panels from both sides and often finish cutting the foam with a handsaw. You can also cut your door and window openings this way. Start by cutting the inside face of the rough opening. Then drill a perpendicular hole 5/8" diameter to the outside face. Be very careful to keep this hole perpendicular to the panel! Mark the panel between holes outside, and cut that face. Finish cuts with a handsaw if you need to.
