How to Work with Wall Panels If you use curtainwall panels - these have drywall already in place as the inside face of the panel. With curtainwall panels you won’t need to worry about installing drywall. Many people do use curtainwall panels on their timberframes. The advantages - you already have your drywall in place. It’s less expensive in materials and labor to use curtainwall panels. The disadvantages - your seams (even with splines) are more susceptible to cracking with time. Also, you might not be able to hang heavy pictures or other objects on your walls, since drywall will not support as much weight as OSB. |
