Stress Skin Panels for Timber Frame and Structural Insulated Panel Homes.
PANEL INSTALLATION GUIDE TOC > BEFORE YOU START > WALL PANELS > 2ND PANEL

How to Work with Wall Panels

Continue with your second, and additional panels around the wall. All panel to panel joints that don’t fall over a timber must be splined together. Study Figure 11. Slip splines into the spline channels as you go. If you use panel pieces, you may have to create these channels with the hot knife. Be careful to keep up with this! Splines will be hard to insert between panels from the top if you have more than a 10’ tall panel. It’s almost impossible to get splines in after very tall panels (10’ to 16’) are all up, so insert splines as you go!
