PANEL INSTALLATION GUIDE TOC > BEFORE YOU START > ROOF PANELS > RIDGE

How to Install your Roof Panels

You need to cut your ridge panels with a miter so they fit cleanly together at the peak of your roof. Figure 20 shows this detail. If you won’t be building a cold roof, use splines on the outside face of your roof panels. You won’t need to use splines on the inside of your roof panels, since they’re supported by the roof framing itself. You should keep a 1/4" gap at all panel joints, including the ridge so you can seal this later with expanding foam sealer.

Important: Use blocks of OSB scrap as spacers while you position your roof panels!
