Adhesive

All R-Tight® panels are manufactured using Morton Thiokol (now a division of Rohm & Haas) Mor-Ad M-series one-part, non-volatile urethane adhesives. The adhesive is applied together with an aqueous spray (water is the second component) according to manufacturers recommended loading ratios. The adhesive is applied to panel components, which are then laminated at 7-10 psi in custom-designed air pod presses. Techical specifications for the Mor-Ad ahdesive can be found in National Evaluation Report NER-451, Reissued September 1, 1997.

Oriented Strand Board

Oriented strand board (OSB) is manufactured by Weyerhaeuser or Huber woods products. The standard 7/16" thickness is used for all R-Tight® panels. Huber Blue OSB panels have a Class C (III) flame spread rating as discussed in the HUD/FHA Manual of Acceptance Practices, Section 405-8 to the Minimum Property Standards. Weyerhaeuser OSB "Structurewood" was evaluated using ASTM E 84 Tunnel Furnace Test Methods with Series T-4388 through T-4390. Structurewood is Class C, as certified by Hardwood Plywood Manufacturer's Association.

Drywall

R-Tight® panels are typically manufactured with GypsumTM Cameo® Veneer Board Plaster Base which has Flame Spread 15 and Smoke Developed 0 Surface Burning Characteristics per ASTM 84 or CAN/ULC-S102.

Expanded Polystyrene (EPS)

All R-Tight® panels are manufactured with Carpenter Insulation Company or Polar Industries EPS 1.0 pcf density Type I foam blanks. Carpenter Insulation Company EPS was evaluated by ASTM Test D1622 for density. Tests showed a Thermal Resistance of 4.17 at 40 degrees F for 1" thick EPS. Dimensional Stability was evaluated using ASTM Test D2126 to show a maximum of 2% change. Underwriters Laboratories Inc.® UL Test 723 or ASTM E 84 showed 5" thick or 6" thick Carpenter Insulation Company EPS had Flame Spread 15, Smoke Developed 250.Carpenter Insulation Company EPS is UL Listed.
